He
joined Bangladesh Civil Service (Customs and Excise Cadre) in 2003 as an Assistant Commissioner, and served in Customs and VAT Offices at different capacities as Deputy
Commissioner, Joint Commissioner, and Additional Commissioner.
Mr. Hossain has also worked in the World Customs Organization (WCO)
Headquarters, Brussels as a Professional Associate in the Compliance and
Facilitation Directorate. In addition, he has had the opportunity to work with
the National Tax Agency (NTA), Ministry of Finance, Japan for 15 months whilst
studying in Japan.
Mr. Hossain has completed MA from Keio University, Tokyo in Taxation Policy and
Management under the Joint Japan/World Bank Graduate Scholarship Program.
Moreover, he did Master’s in Economics, and achieved an MBA specialized in
Strategic and International Management.
He has considerable experiences and sound knowledge on Customs procedures, Value Added Tax (VAT), Human Resource Management, WCO-WTO’s Trade-related matters, etc. Additionally, he has the practical experiences of working with Intellectual Property Rights, Single Window, Coordinated Border Management (CBM), Risk Management, Post Clearance Audit, WTO Trade Facilitation Agreement (TFA) , Money Laundering, Public Policy, etc.
He
is a certified/expert trainer on VAT, Customs Post Clearance Audit (PCA), Intellectual Property Rights (IPR), and Risk Management, Single
Window, WTO TFA, etc. He carried out considerable number of researches on
Customs and trade facilitation matters, and published many articles in local
and international reputed journals.
